What do I do?

When I meet new people, they often asked ‘what do you do?’
I told them I am a university professor and a researcher too.
But tell you the truth, lately I didn’t teach students.
I also didn’t have a chance to do my research as often.

So what do I do nowadays?
All I do is attending many meetings as always.
When I finish meeting, I come back to my office.
No I don’t have time to rest, not just a little bit.

There are many documents that need my signatures.
This can’t be right, I am no longer a professor.
My place should be in the classroom not the room like this.
Teaching and researching are things that I really miss.

As someone says ‘this too shall pass’,
But the other told me, you have to ‘make’ it pass, that’s really smart.
I need to take action before it’s too late.
I have to go back to do what I love, I must control my fate.

Next time you read my rhyme, I will come back stronger.
I will be back to be a full time professor.
